Career exploration has taken on a new dimension for people in today’s changing global economy. It has never been more important for you to set goals and establish a career direction that will enable you to reach those goals.

The core of career planning is developing a strong self-knowledge. By knowing who you are (interests, values, and personality) and knowing what you have to offer (skills, knowledge, and experience) will enable you to identify a compatible occupation that best fits your individual needs.

The Career Development Center offers many services to assist you in your journey of discovery. Career Counselors will help you to:

• Interpret test and assessment results to identify skills, interests, etc.
• Identify information resources to research various professions and employers
• Explain and demonstrate job search methods
• Review resumes and offer ideas to strengthen the presentation
• Assist with interview preparation
• Explore education and training options to enhance employability
• Overcome a specific job barrier
• Address transition issues with coping techniques and/or referrals to other professionals
• Provide objective feedback and assistance on a wide range of career matters
