Transitional Jobs Demonstration Project

The Transitional Jobs Demonstration Project is designed to provide low-income Racine County residents who meet program guidelines with skills development and work experience through limited-term employment. The elements of the program include an application process through the Workforce Development Center, a two week Orientation, placement in a subsidized wage-paying transitional job, job retention services, assistance in placement in unsubsidized employment, and appropriate linkages to education and training.  Participants will engage in work for up to 40 hours a week, and/or spend additional hours participating in education and training related to skills development as determined necessary.

Transitional Jobs  is a program providing skills development and work experience through limited-term employment to assist low-income families gain immediate income and work skills with the goal of obtaining regular employment within 6 months. 

Read the Flyer for the current round of hiring.  Applications will be available through 12 noon on Thursday, November 17,  2011 and must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, November 18, 2011.
