We are pleased to announce that applications are now available for the 13th CNC (Computer Numerically Controlled) Bootcamp. This training is a partnership with the Racine County Workforce Development Center and Gateway Technical College designed to meet the needs of employers within the community. The CNC Bootcamp is an intensive 14 week training program designed for participants to gain the necessary skills to qualify for an entry level CNC Operator position.
CNC Bootcamp 13 will take place on the Racine GTC Campus from January 9, 2012 through April 13, 2012. The hours of training are 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday through Friday.

Application packets for CNC Bootcamp 13 are now available in the Resource Room, Racine County Workforce Development Center, 1717 Taylor Ave, as well as the Burlington location, 496 McCanna Parkway, Room 119.

If you know of anyone interested, please notify them as soon as possible:

  • Applications are now available
  • Last day to pick up an application is December 1, 2011
  • Completed applications are due in the Racine Resource Room no later than 5:00pm on Friday, December 9, 2011.
  • The application process consists of multiple steps
  • All interested applicants should take the time before leaving the Resource Room to read through the entire application packet, front to back, so they are aware of the required steps to be completed as part of the application process

Enrollment is limited.  In order to be a candidate eligible for consideration, it is necessary to pick up the application packet, meet the requirements as detailed in the packet, and have the completed packet turned in on or before the deadline.

Need to improve your English skills?  If English is not your first language and you would like to improve your speaking and writing abilities, you can benefit by taking English As a Second Language (ESL) classes at the Workforce Development Center`s Academic Improvement Area.  Classes are offered Monday - Thursday from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  Classes are for all levels--beginner, intermediate, and advanced.  They include reading, writing and speaking as well as grammar and listening skills.  The WDC is located at 1717 Taylor Avenue, Racine, WI 53403.

Learn how to use the computer or improve your present skills in the WDC`s Academic Improvement Center.  Watch videos, listen to self-paced multimedia tutorials and do hands on mini-lessons to help you learn Windows 95, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access and Outlook.  Improve your typing skills with our keyboarding programs.  Come in when you can!

You can actually make money while you are learning a trade or occupation with the Wisconsin Registered Apprenticeship Program. Apprenticeships combine on-the-job training with classroom instruction. Plus, the Apprentice will be getting the technical back-up necessary for a complete understanding of their chosen field. Just a few hours a week at your local technical college pays off big at the workplace where you can use your knowledge in a practical application.
