About

WDC and its partners will provide summer employment opportunities for youth aged 16 to 24.  Applications will be accepted from youth seeking work experience and from employers wanting to host participants.

This is a six-week course, one-week of coursework followed by five weeks of work experience and training indemandoccupations.  This course will equip youth with basic work skills, and practical know-how that employers require in today’s job seekers.   Students will be placed in a paid internship based on interviews and other eligibility requirements. Enroll in the class to earn potential references, create an impressive resume, earn “work-ready” credentials, gain work experience and move along the pathway to becoming career and/or college ready.

Course work will be followed by five weeks of work experience and ongoing training.  During that period, eligible participants can earn $7.25 to $10.00 an hour in addition to .5 high school credits.  Check with your local high school to find out how to receive this .5 credit.

The E3 program for 2011 has concluded.  Next Spring check the Worforce Development Center Home page for E3 announcements for 2012.
