Job fair lures Echo Lake Foods employees - February 14, 2013 - BURLINGTON — At just 19 years, Michael Ayers, who lives with his mother and brother, is the sole provider in his household. He was earning a good wage at Echo Lake Foods before the January fire that shut down the food production plant.
Wednesday, he was looking for work at a job fair at Veterans Terrace in Burlington. “I’m just trying to figure out how to survive,” Ayers said. “I’m looking for anything I can get.”
