Lavelle Industries is in constant pursuit of lean initiatives that achieve reduction in waste of labor, materials and

processes.  Lavelle recently launched a rubber recycling program to reduce the amount of scrap rubber previously sent to landfills.  This is a major initiative for Lavelle and the youth working at this worksite assisted in organizing the internal procedures.  They worked with Lavelle's production staff to organize storage of the rubber, collect data and document processes.

The youth gained skills in the areas of organization, devloping standard work, documenting standard work, working with others, recording data, and using Microsoft Excel and Word.
